Governor McAuliffe ‘Day to Serve’ Proclamation

Fairfax County need your help to bring local produce to our community!

Fairfax County Farmers Markets are currently seeking volunteer Market Masters and Assistant Market Masters for the 2014 season at Burke, Annandale, Mount Vernon/McCutcheon & McLean

The time commitment is once a week for the full market season (May-November). As an assistant you will step in for the lead Market Master if they are unable to make it to market.


Beginning on or about Monday, July 7, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will open the southbound High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes on I-95/395 no later than 12 p.m., rather than 1 p.m. The HOV lanes will close to northbound traffic at10 a.m., instead of 11 a.m., Mondays through Fridays, and open to southbound traffic an hour earlier. The one-hour earlier opening of southbound HOV lanes will be in effect until the end of the summer to help ease congestion on I-95 South.
