PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA...During its Board meeting on April 7, 2015, the Prince William Board of County Supervisors requested that the Commonwealth of Virginia locate the planned Northern Virginia Veterans Care Facility on a 27-acre county-owned property located at 11000 Crestwood Drive and 8200 Ashton Avenue.

The Virginia General Assembly and the Governor passed legislation to fund construction of two Veterans Care Centers in the Commonwealth. One is to be located in the Hampton Roads area, and the other in Northern Virginia. "Prince William County is an ideal location for the Northern Virginia Veterans Care Facility," said Corey Stewart, Chairman of the Board of County Supervisors. "This particular site is conveniently located to I-66 allowing easy access for family and friends to visit and within close proximity to the amenities and services needed for our deserving veterans to receive care at the planned facility."

RICHMOND - Governor Terry McAuliffe today proclaimed April as Month of the Military Child and encouraged Virginians to wear purple on April 15 to show their support for military-connected children. “Virginia is home to some of the nation's largest and most important military installations and second only to California in the number of active duty military members,” said Governor McAuliffe. “It should come as no surprise that the Commonwealth's schools educate more military children than schools in almost any other state.”

Thank you to everyone in the Senate Chamber who made such kind and generous remarks yesterday. It was humbling and I don't deserve many of the accolades bestowed on me. Due to the surprise of all the points of personal privilege for me, I was too overwhelmed to make my annual - and final - speech on the anniversary of George Washington's birthday. It's a good little speech, so I will just post it here for anyone who wants to read it, and say thank you to my colleagues on both sides of the aisle. It's been an amazing 24 years. - Toddy
